Felix Macauley 'SoSimple Self Filler' 1921 - 1930
Made at the Newhaven factory in East Sussex c1921. The site at Newhaven was used as a base for soldiers during the First World War and thereafter as a recouperation centre. Macauley took over the site in 1920 but suffered from the effects of the depression and the factory was bought by Valentines in 1930. Parker started sharing the facilities in the late 30's before buying out the Valentine Company. Newhaven became the headquarters of Parker in 1987 before being sold to Newell Rubbermaid who eventually closed it down in 2010 moving all production to France. 14c gold nib and gold plated lever - pump action filler. The
nickel plated pocket clip was added later and can be easily removed to maintain authenticity. |

Mabie Todd Swan Although originating in the USA from the late 1800's Mabie Todd became a wholly British owned company by 1919. This rare Lapis Blue pen has the 'Mabie Todd & Co New York' imprint together with the original patent dates and was probably made during the early 1930's - manufacturing in the USA ceased towards the end of that decade. |
