South Norwood London 1940's/50's - 14c gold nibs Some Burnhams are very collectible although many post war models were made in large quantities and attempting to place a date on any one model is an excercise worthy of a Phd thesis. More information: Burnham Pens |

Vintage Wearever DeLuxe
Made in New Jersey USA 1930's - A well known manufacturer in the States
famous for their 'dime store' pens of which this is not one. A more upmarket model but still made in such a way as to undercut the more famous names of the era. Having said that this pen is some 80 years old and in full working order so maybe the popular conception could be revised. |
Vintage Wearever DeLuxe 100
Another 1940's model with a silver
palladium alloy nib. Cheap doesn't always mean nasty and as far as these pens go I believe that some collectors have joined a rather snobbish bandwagon to suggest that they are.
My belief is that these are perfectly acceptable value for money offerings which made the use of a fountain pen available to many who could previously not afford one. |
