Having now completed a move to Norfolk I'm back on the trail and taking a new look at my collection and what I may still have available to sell. All current sale items are on my Ebay site and many more will soon be added. My main focus this year is to clear my current stock of pens before adding any new lines so there may be some special prices available along the way. Keep coming back and you never know what you might find.
After some thought I have decided to close the Sales side of this website and redirect viewers to my Ebay page which has an up to date and comprehensive list of pens for sale. The link is to the right of this message. This should make the process of purchasing an item a lot easier together with the security that Ebay offers in terms of buyer and seller protection. I will continue to add new items periodically so if you don't see what you want now please come back at a later date, you never know what you might find !
I have spent the last 12 months selling on Ebay and have neglected the contents of this site which is now well out of date. By the end of this month I hope to have everything sorted so that you can be confident that all pens listed are available. I have already removed many of the items that have been sold but I have perhaps an extra 100 pens that need to be listed and this will take a while. In the meantime you can always go to my Ebay page to see what is available there. The link is on the right of this page.
Well nearly ! After such a mild end to 2015 and a sunny if a little frosty January we can always hope that an early Spring is on the horizon. The website continues to grow as my Waterman page is filling nicely and with plenty more to post over the coming weeks there should be a nice selection to choose from.
My vintage pens are still sitting in a box ready for servicing but it may be a couple of months before these are ready to post. I have several Mentmore's and Burnham's to clean and service and a couple of Mabie Todd's together with several more Waterman's, some from the 1920's/30's. I have over 70 pens currently listed on Ebay including multiples so plenty for everyone to take a look at. That's it then for now - speak to you later. As Christmas approaches I'm in the process of adding more items to my Ebay site which can be viewed by using the link to the right of this page. Of course you can still purchase items directly from here using the automated links. Some pens on my Collection pages are also available for sale and if there is anything there that you fancy please contact me, also take a look at the Special Offers page for some excellent reductions.
In order to assist prospective buyers with their decision process I have added a link on the right of this page to my Ebay account where you can check out my feedback rating and comments. My description of items for sale is as accurate as I'm able to determine and I spend a lot of time researching those that I am not totally familiar with to ensure that the description is correct. Every new or new old stock pen on this website is subject to a full money back guarantee if not totally satisfied and returned within 14 days of purchase (buyer pays return postage). Used pens are not normally covered by this guarantee but I will consider any reasons given for such a request..
New - New and unused item in it's original box with papers which may have been opened to inspect the goods or to take photos. Some pens are purchased wholesale and arrive without boxes or papers - these are generally offered at a cheaper price than a boxed item and are supplied in a clear plastic sleeve or suedette pouch. New Old Stock - New and unused item that has more than likely been stored for a period of time and may be missing it's original box or the outer box may not be in mint condition - where the box is missing these items will be supplied in an alternative box or in a clear plastic sleeve or suedette pouch. Near Mint - Means used but with little or no signs of wear - may or may not have original box Fine - Means used with some signs of wear and usually without a box - any significant marks or faults are noted in the description. The automatic purchasing system is now well under way with over 400 pens including multiples to be added over the next few weeks and months. This makes ordering so much easier for any one off purchase however for multiple buys the customer will still need to contact me for combined postage rates and for international charges.Still this is a step in the right direction which I hope to improve further in the future. One recent significant addition to my collection is a set of Rotring pens many of which are now difficult to come by especially at a reasonable price. This collection on the left hand side includes 600 series pens and several Newton series including 6 Lava's and a couple of Rollerballs which are now difficult to find. On the right is a set of 20 Esprit series including several gold plated pencils and ballpoints and a nice 'double push' duo pen. Some of these will be made available for sale at a later date. . As Spring approaches I will as usual be spending more time outside and less time slaving over the computer but there will still be plenty to look at here as this site has moved on significantly since this time last year.
Half way through the month and I'm exactly half way towards this month's target with my Ebay sales of mainly new pens leading the way. Shortly I'll be returning to servicing some of the many vintage pens that are waiting for some care and attention and also posting a small selection of my collection items for sale. Recent aquisitions include the Parker 105 Charles & Diana Wedding Celebration issue from 1981 and the Waterman Le Man French Revolution Fountain Pen & Ballpoint Pen from 1989, still wrapped in the original manufacturers packaging and never opened.
From my collection the Omas Paragon Burlwood Limited Edition fountain pen with the Rose Gold nib and trim is now available if anyone would like to enquire. This pen is fitted with the 14c gold flexible nib as opposed to the standard 18c gold non flexible nib - the advertised price will be £895.00 with an option to make an offer close to that figure. Other collection items soon to be made available will be a Parker 180 fountain pen in Jasper Red - no price as yet and a Parker 61 stainless steel fountain pen with a very smooth writing action and with the original capillary filling system which appears to be in full working order. I am also prepared to consider offers for the Parker Duofold Greenwich Millenium Special issue Rollerball which also comes with the Duofold International 18c gold nib assembly. Less than 1000 of these were made although they are not numbered. That's it for now. Well that's the end of Summer but a reasonable Autumn so far and time to start making some progress with selling some of my collection pens as well as the new items that have been available for some time now. There is a new page called Ebay Sales - this contains collection pens which I have posted on Ebay and some collection items which are not on Ebay and are only available directly from this website. I am also constantly buying pens, repairing if necessary and generally ensuring that they are in working order before posting for sale and with a current collection of over 250 pens I think this Winter will be a very busy time. So till next time - happy writing.
I have now added a few collection items to my sales inventory including a nice Parker 85 gold plated Florence for £175.00 and a Parker Duofold International marble blue for £195.00. The Sales pages of the website are complete and I'm now working on a stores page which will enable automatic ordering and payment through PayPal. This will take some time as each item has to be photographed and listed seperately with quantity and colour options and with over 60 different models and over 250 individual pens this is a mammoth task. I also have a quantity of additional items such as ink,cases,rubbers,pencils,sharpeners,calculator/rulers,journal books and general writing books which will be catalogued and posted at a later date. My intention is to be able to provide a comprehensive service to anyone wishing to start a new life with a decent pen or those wishing to add to an existing collection.
I have not yet engaged in promoting my services to the general public because I still have 3 years before retirement and the sole purpose of this hobby/business is to provide some additional income when that time comes so if you happen to stumble across this website any time soon you should have the pick of what's on offer and an opportunity to take advantage before everything 'disappears'. The Collection pages are far from finished and may not be completed this side of Autumn. Every item is fully researched and in this regard I am indebted to Stephen Hull's excellent reference book 'The English Fountain Pen Industry 1875 - 1975' together with archived articles which appeared in the Writing Equipment Society journal and of course discourses by eminent pen officianados who post on the internet. Some of my entries have little information but these will be added to over time. That's it for now and as Summer approaches there are other priorities to attend to namely 'gardening'. Last year I had my garden landscaped and 'patioed' if there is such a word - this year I can sit out and enjoy once the winter's scarring has been removed. |
